Oh, What Do You Do In The Summertime?

Well, for starters, you give yourself a migraine trying to keep up with everything that has gone on in the last few weeks! We've had at least 3 weeks where I had to be at the school almost everyday for some program, awards thing, talent show, meeting, etc. I AM glad that school is out for that one reason - I don't have to show up at the school for a couple of months! We've been busy, so keep scrolling down to see all that's happened at our house:
Abby - receiving her "diploma" and graduating from 6th grade....Brenna and I were laughing so hard because the entire program was reminiscent of our high school graduation. Two hours long, awards, singing, slide show, diplomas....seriously, who knew 6th grade was such a big deal? Family Reunion in Enterprise, Utah on Memorial Day Weekend: We girls had a blast, and Kim and Jake stayed home to play baseball. The weather was a bit temper mental so we were extra glad that our version of camping included the Sleep E Motel in Enterprise! Here's the old ladies table where we learned how to crotch-et (ha, ha aunt cheryl) and make cute balloon flip flop and ate chex mix until we about threw up! Emily at the craft table with her well painted ceramics that Grandma brought for the kids. She left a trail of paint behind her, but dang those frogs were cute and kept her attention for quite some time! Natalie with her new friend, Rusty...she was missing her own dog, Buddy the Wonder Dog, so she clung to poor Rusty for 3 days! Emily and Mrs. Clark - Second Grade, Here She Comes!
Jake with Mrs. Phillips - On to 5th Grade!
Abby with Miss Hill and Mrs. Pike - Goodbye 6th Grade, Hello Jr. High!

Flower Beds in Bloom: Profusion Zinnias and White Chrysanthemums

First Snow Cone Stand of the Season: Abby, Jake, Emily, Natalie, Derik, Gabe, and Kylie. Money Donated to the Cause: about $10.00, Money Made: about $5.00, A Day Spent Outside, and Out of My Hair: Priceless....

I get pretty irritable about graduation ceremonies for anything other than high school and above. And even then, the other day I was wondering why we celebrate high school graduation so hugely when let's be real here, our kids aren't going to get anywhere without a college diploma! Unless they are super enterprising and have an entrepreneural spirit. Who knows, that snow cone stand could really start raking in the dough! :)

Sorry, I get grumpy about certain things and I hope my comments aren't downers.

I can't believe our kids are getting so huge! Ugh, where did the time go?

See, it's all coming together. Child labor = mommy's sanity. Stay calm. Only 88 more days!
