With all the commotion in St. George over the weekend, we thought it best to add to the chaos and throw my sister, Brenna a baby shower. She was due on April 22 and thought that while we're all together, we could help her celebrate the impending birth of her first baby. She was unsure if she should travel so close to her due date, but decided with her doctor that things looked okay, and she would make the trip. She brought along her chart a few necessities, just in case. After all the wedding hulabaloo, we had the shower on Saturday. She went right from the shower to the hospital! She was leaking fluid and they wouldn't let her leave - I don't know how excited she was to deliver in a strange city, with a strange doctor and in a strange hospital, but the rest of us were ecstatic that we would be there! My mom was set to go home on Monday, and was especially happy that the big event would happen while she was here.
Halle Kate Thomas was born on Sunday, April 5 at 2:36 am. (Her favorite aunt, ME, had guessed that she would be born at 2:35!) This day is especially significant for our family because 11 years ago to the day, was the day that our sister had passed away. So now, we can remember the day for two reasons...both with a little fondness in our hearts. We were glad to be there for the main event and are especially glad that she is healthy and cute as a button. Welcome to the World, Halle Kate!

It was so nice to see all of you and be able to participate in the shower. I had such a nice visit with your mom and her family. I've seen Angie, but hadn't seen your Aunt Jan or your grandma in ages. I'm glad your mom got to be there for the birth of Brenna's baby. What a special day and such a happy way to commerate April 5th, which probably used to be somewhat of a sad day. Now it's a day to celebrate. New babies are so wonderful. Oh I am so happy for Brenna and all of you guys that got to be there, Halle is so cute I am so happy I got to see her in person before they went home. Congrats!!
