Buddy the Wonder Dog ate my camera cord, and so since I have no abilities to unload my camera, I am blogging about the dumber things in life. I have made a resolution of sorts. Me and pop (soda for some of you out there) are taking a break. I have made a decision that I will no longer be purchasing, drinking, or longing for pop of any sorts. Diet or Full Strength. I have come to this decision after realizing that many days go by that my main caloric intake for the day came from pop. Or, that I have gone days without actually drinking any water, only diet pepsi. I drank it because it tasted good and gave me a little caffeinated boost to get me through the afternoon (or the morning sometimes). But, I have come to realize also that it doesn't feel good to crave something and that it makes me feel quite bloated and sick sometimes. When the energy boost is over, I come crashing down and that doesn't feel good either. I may be grouchy for the next little while as my body decides that drinking water is okay. I have this giant bottle of water sitting next to me and it is all I can do to make myself drink it....but, for now, it's all I have. So, goodbye dear friend...may we meet again someday when I can have some self control...

You go girl! Maybe I should kick the Diet Coke...I'll think about it! :)
You are better than me I have to have at least one diet coke a day, but the crystal light packages that you add to your water are really good. Maybe that will help getting the water down. Good luck!!
I cannot support you in this decision, but good luck.
Vickie
detox for 3 weeks with no soda. Then add back 1 can a day and 2 on the sabbath. Kidding. It's hard but you will feel better and then your not a slave to it. Bottoms up!
Good for you! I gave up pop w/my first 3 pregnancies but am having a harder time with this one. I do treat myself to maybe 1-2 cans a week (caffeine free, of course). It's not the caffeine that I need, it's the sweet taste.
It's not so bad I hven't had a soda in over a year, and once you get past that first week or two it's really not to hard.
Good Luck! I did this with Dr. Pepper, unfortinately, I was defeated. Hang in there!
I think I may have told you already that I can no longer drink carbonation of any kind. I still long for the stuff and dream about drinking it. I go to any fast food place or local gas station and wish I could grab a 44 ounce cup and fill 'er up with Dr. Pepper or Pepsi. Even now my mouth is watering as I think about it.
However, I feel so good not having it. I feel in control and happy. My body does not feel icky or crave it any more, just my mind and it might take a while for that to subside.
If anyone can do it, you can!!!
