Yes, we have an announcement, and NO I'm NOT pregnant! I finally caved and allowed Santa to bring my kids something that they have BEGGED to have for YEARS! Our new puppy arrived on Christmas Eve...he even had the big red bow around his neck. He was delivered across the street to our sweet neighbors who puppy-sat for the night (and put up with the whining!). The next morning, the kids were led on a scavenger hunt all around the house and 
ended up on the neighbors front porch to see their new adventure. He is the sweetest thing (as of now)...he is a pure bred shitzu and his name is 'Buddy'. So far, he has been pretty good. He is paper trained, which is good, considering the 12" of snow we have in the back yard. It would make it a little hard to have him be out there right now. He hasn't bothered my allergies, or Jake's, so it looks as though he may stay with us....Kim and I were saying last night, that really, we could have gotten them nothing else other than the dog and they would have been just as happy. We also had a laugh last night when Natalie announced that "if we got another puppy, he could be Buddy's 'buddy'...." The adventure is still new, so ask me in a month if I'm glad that I caved!

I'll tell you now that you will want to pull your hair out, yell when he has chewed your new shoes (or the kids) and get sick and tired of cleaning up "accidents". But, Buddy also will become a quick member of the family that is easily forgiven and fun for the kids.

I couldn't believe it when Jake told us! I'm glad you caved and not me! I'll just send my kids down to play with Buddy when they need some "dog time"! He's very cute.
Every kid needs a pet, what a cute, sweet puppy! Good Mom!

Oh my, you are a good mama! We are paper trained at our house too because of the snow...but there are times. I hope you are surviving! We are on 5 weeks now and there are good and bad days. Oh good luck! let me know if you ever need puppy support!
SO CUTE! I'm glad you finally gave in. I wish I knew you wanted a dog because I would have sold you Harley or Honey or both! :)
What?! What happened to June? He is super cute!! Can't wait to see him. I can only imagine Natalie's face when you told her he was her's to take home. How cute!
Congrats on the newest member to your family. You're brave getting a dog when you have allergies. Hopefully they won't bother you too much or you'll love the dog so much that you'll medicate yourself for him! :) Best wishes!
