Abby and Jake were participants in a semi-annual piano recital held last night. They both had to play a song pertaining to their Halloween costumes. Abby played 'Can't Help Falling in Love' because she was dressed in a 60's poodle skirt and the song was popluar in the 60's and Jake played 'Halloween' - he was dressed as a zombie. They both played very well and we're all glad it's over so we don't have to hear the same song practiced over and over. They had to memorize the music, so you can imagine how many times we've had to hear it. You can tell how thrilled they were about having to perform in front of a crowd in the video...neither one of them even cracked a smile. They both strongly voice their opinions about having lessons just about every week, but it's like I keep telling them...someday, you'll thank me....I hope. Please mute the music and take a look.

I had to play the piano today for the primary program. I was sick to my stomach and was in the bathroom this morning A LOT! The moral of the story is, the better you get now while you are young, the less nerves you have when you are older and have to play in the primary program. Get good, while the getting good is easy!
Good job Ab and Jake!
Erin,
Love the pictures of Abby and Jake at the piano. Would love to see a pic of you and your man. Check out my blog I have finally entered the blog scene. vickie-fitz.blogspot.com

How fun, they both did a great job!!
Someday THEY WILL THANK US RIGHT?
They did great!
I'm amazed how grown-up Abby looks! She's still a toddler in my most vivid memories of her.
I wish I had been consistent with my kids and lessons. My brother went on his mission to Australia and was the only missionary in his area that played the piano. He lived in a branch that had never had a pianist and used taped music for their meetings. Needless to say, they were thrilled to have him there and he was finally grateful for all of the lessons he had "endured" as a kid!
cute idea for recital. If the kid playing sucks you can at least look at the costumes:) Bring your blog bag of tricks to next scrap. Now that Vickie has joined we can swap fav's and tips. Beats talking about Arabian goggles.
